Quote of the Year

I was reading an article on the Idaho Statesman's website tonight about the local "Tea Party" today, and read what has to be one of the top quotes of the year thus far:
“The first tea party was a protest of taxation without representation. This tea party is a protest of taxation with misrepresentation.” (Rep. Lenore Barrett, R-Challis)

The nationwide Tea Party events providentially took place the week before our homeschool studies the original tea party and the events surrounding it; we'll have to check out some of the rallies on youtube...

Lots of Snow

Posted by PicasaWe are experiencing technical difficulties (I am, I'm computerly challenged) I don't know what happened to all the rest of the blog! I'll need much help in rectifying the whole matter! Again, please be patient. Blogger in training going on here!

Here are some of the photo's I said I had coming, these are "old" - back when it was snowing constantly. Now, the snow is melted, except for part of the fort, thanks to many days in the 40's (sometimes 50 degrees) in a row.(You can click on the collage of photos to make them bigger.) Spring is coming, we have the ants all over our kitchen and the starlings nesting in our attic right above our bedroom to tell us that. We're being overtaken! And mud, lots of mud.

Ahh, February

January is over and into February we go. Not that it's that much different outside than it was 2 days ago, but, it's still NOT January and that's a good thing! We did get up to 40 degrees yesterday, with sunshine too, it was nice. Now we'll have to see if the groundhog sees his shadow today, not that I'm into that superstition and all-- but if the critter does see his shadow I think we will be having grilled groundhog for dinner tonight! I call the chewy little ears, num-num.
